I just dropped way too much money on a 65 inch Sony Bravia A80K last week and while the picture is like, mind blowing, the built in speakers are just okay for everyday TV but totally suck for movies. I'm honestly super stressed because I have a big movie night planned for next Friday and I still havent picked a soundbar. Im looking at the Sony HT-A7000 because of that S-Center sync thing where it uses the TV speakers too but then I see everyone raving about the Sonos Arc and how easy it is to set up. Then there is the Samsung Q990C which apparently has the best sub but I dont know if it plays nice with a Sony TV? Im in a small apartment in Seattle so I cant have wires running all over the floor or my wife will kill me but I want that Atmos feel. My budget is capped at like $1200 maybe $1300 if I push it. Im leaning toward the A7000 just to keep it in the family but is the Sonos actually better for the money? Or should I just risk the compatibility stuff with the Samsung? I just want it to work perfectly the first time without a headache...

I was in your exact shoes last year when I got my Bravia! Honestly I was so nervous about things not working together that I just stuck with the Sony HT-A7000 7.1.2ch Soundbar with Dolby Atmos and it was literally the best decision ever!! The setup was basically plug and play which is exactly what I needed because im not a tech genius at all lol. That S-Center sync feature is actually amazing because it makes the voices sound like they are coming right out of the screen... it really makes a huge difference for movies. Heres why I love it:

  • Zero compatibility headaches since its the same brand
  • The Atmos effect is super immersive for such a sleek bar
  • It fits perfectly under the Bravia stand Seriously if you want to avoid a headache before your movie night just go with the Sony! I was so stressed but it just works flawlessly. Youre gonna love it!

Saw this earlier but just now getting to reply. Had a similar headache last year... honestly I stressed way too much about the brand matching thing. The flagship set I found on clearance works perfectly. One thing I learned tho, in a small apartment you really dont need the most expensive sub. Mine stays turned way down anyway. Saved some cash and my wife is happy with the look.
