I just dropped way too much money on this 65 inch Sony Bravia X90K and now Im freaking out because I forgot I need a controller for it. Im mainly gonna be using it for Geforce Now and some casual stuff from the play store like Asphalt but the lag is what scares me the most. I read online that some bluetooth controllers have major delay on Google TV and I cant deal with that. I dont want to buy something and then have to return it right away because the buttons take a half second to register.
Im currently torn between just getting a standard PS5 DualSense since its a Sony TV and maybe they work better together? But then I saw the 8BitDo Ultimate which people swear by and its a bit cheaper. My budget is strictly under 70 bucks because like I said the TV killed my savings lol. I also looked at the Xbox wireless controller because everyone says it has the best compatibility but I dont know if it plays nice with the Sony interface. I need to pick something up by Friday because my nephews are coming over for a long weekend and I promised them we could play some games. Is the DualSense actually better for a Sony TV or should I just save the ten bucks and go with the 8BitDo or the Xbox one? Which one is actually gonna have the least amount of input lag?

I really wanted to love the Sony DualSense Wireless Controller with my Bravia, but honestly, it was a massive disappointment. Youd think being the same brand would mean some secret sauce for latency, but nope. Testing it with Destiny on GeForce Now was just depressing... felt like I was steering a cargo ship. Unfortunately, the Bluetooth stack on these TVs is just not as good as expected for gaming. It feels laggy even when youre just navigating menus sometimes tho. If you want the least headache, grab the Microsoft Xbox Wireless Controller Robot White. It feels more native to the Android interface than the PS5 one does and the connection seems more stable. Quick tips for lag:
- Use a UGREEN USB 2.0 Extension Cable 10ft to play wired
- Turn off any smoothing settings in the TVs motion menu

Been through this saga with my own Bravia. To be safe with lag, I eventually gave up on Bluetooth and tried these:
- Logitech G F710 Wireless Gamepad uses a 2.4GHz dongle and its basically bulletproof for reliability tho its kinda ugly.
- GameSir G7 SE Wired Controller is what I use now since a wire means zero latency. Bluetooth is just too hit or miss on Google TV... dongles or wires are way more reliable.

Watch out for Bluetooth lag on Android TV, it's usually pretty bad. I'd suggest the 8BitDo Ultimate Wireless 2.4G Controller with the dongle. Check the RTINGS database for the specific latency numbers.
