Which Sony wireless headphones are actually going to stay on my head and not get destroyed by sweat when I'm running or at the gym because I am about two seconds away from just giving up on this brand entirely. I've spent hours looking online and honestly the more I read the more confused I get. I'm training for this half-marathon here in Seattle and since it's basically always drizzling I need something that wont die the second it sees a drop of water. I've got a budget of about $300 which I thought was plenty but apparently not if I want something that actually works for someone who actually moves their body.
I saw everyone raving about the WH-1000XM5 over-ear ones and they look cool and all but how is anyone actually running in those?? I tried them on at a shop and they felt like they'd slide right off my face the moment I started sweating plus I read they have zero water resistance rating which seems insane for that price point. Then I looked at the LinkBuds S because they're smaller and supposedly stay in better but then I see half the people on forums saying the battery dies after six months because of moisture issues and the other half saying they're perfect. It's so annoying and I'm tired of wasting time.
Heres what Ive looked at so far:
I'm really leaning towards the WF ones but I've got weirdly small ears so I'm worried they'll just pop out like my current cheap ones do. Are the LinkBuds Fit any good for actual intense movement or are they just a gimmick? I need to buy these by next Friday before my big training run and I'm just stuck in this loop of watching YouTube reviews that all say different things. If anyone actually uses Sonys for heavy gym use and distance running please tell me what actually survives more than a month of sweat and motion...
> Are the LinkBuds Fit any good for actual intense movement or are they just a gimmick? I've been super satisfied with the Sony LinkBuds Fit Wireless Noise Canceling Earbuds IPX4 lately. The air-cushioned wings actually lock into your ear fold, and they havent budged once during my hill sprints. If you want something totally different, the Sony Float Run Off-Ear Wireless Headphones are technical marvels for runners. They sit off the ear so no pressure, and that IPX4 rating handles the drizzle perfectly fine.
Saw this earlier and wanted to chime in. I'm gonna politely disagree with dropping the full $300 for gym beaters. High-end buds have more delicate tech that moisture can mess with. Honestly, the Sony WF-C700N Truly Wireless Noise Canceling Earbuds are a safer choice. They're way smaller, so they actually stay put in tiny ears, and since they're cheaper, it's way less stressful using them in the Seattle drizzle.
I've been training in that same Seattle drizzle lately and honestly I'm so satisfied with my Sony WF-1000XM5 Truly Wireless Noise Canceling Earbuds. They survived my last marathon prep without any moisture issues at all. Quick tip tho: if you have small ears just use the extra small foam tips that come in the box. They grip way better than silicone once youre actually sweating.
Finally someone says it. Ive been thinking this for a while but wasnt sure.
TIL! Thanks for sharing
