^ This. Also, I just found this thread and honestly, everyone is spot on about those $400 discounts and the renewed options. I am such a specs nerd and spent way too long looking at dynamic range charts before I finally upgraded... it was seriously amazing once I did tho! The reliability you get with the Sony a7 IV is just fantastic. I remember shooting an entire outdoor festival in a crazy heatwave and the camera didnt even break a sweat while my backup gear was starting to act up. It's a total tank! For travel photography, you basically just want gear that wont quit on you when you're in the middle of nowhere. Just go with any of the native Sony lenses, you really cant go wrong with their glass. Their autofocus integration is just miles ahead of the third-party stuff imo. Also, definitely get some high-speed cards from the big name brands so you dont have to worry about data corruption while you're on the road. TL;DR: Grab the sale prices already mentioned and stick to native lenses and reliable storage brands!

• Honestly, I'm always the guy who waits until the very last second to buy anything because I'm so paranoid about reliability! I spent years shooting with a different brand and was terrified that switching systems would be a mistake. But man, making the jump to my current setup has been absolutely amazing!
