I recently upgraded to the Sony a7III and I'm looking to improve my audio quality for video projects. I mostly shoot interviews, vlogs, and some outdoor footage. I'd prefer a microphone that can connect directly to the camera, but I'm open to other options if the quality is better.
My budget is around $200-300. I've been considering the Rode VideoMic Pro+ and the Sennheiser MKE 400, but I wanted to get some opinions from the community.
What microphones have you had the best experience with when using the Sony a7III? I'm looking for clear, crisp audio that will be a solid upgrade from the built-in camera mic.
DJI Mic 2 is the best choice.
@pinebaby Agree, Mic 2 is more powerful than original DJI Mic. Easy to use, and compact.
For versatility, I'd recommend the Sony ECM-B1M. It's specifically designed for Sony cameras and integrates well with the a7III. It's a digital mic that connects via the Multi Interface Shoe, allowing for direct digital audio recording. Plus, it has adjustable directivity patterns, which is great for different shooting scenarios.
