Best deals on Sony a7CR?

Hey everyone, I'm seriously considering picking up a Sony a7CR. I've been watching prices for a while now and they seem to fluctuate quite a bit. Has anyone spotted any particularly good deals on the a7CR recently? I'm especially interested in any bundles that might include a decent lens, or perhaps deals from reputable retailers that offer extended warranties. I'm also curious if waiting for potential holiday sales (like Black Friday) is likely to yield significantly better prices, or if the current deals are already pretty competitive. Any insights or recommendations on where to look would be greatly appreciated! Have you seen anything below MSRP? Thanks!

Hey there! I totally get the excitement (and the price-watching!) when you're eyeing a camera like the a7CR. It's a fantastic piece of kit. I actually went through the same thing a few months back when I was upgrading my own setup.

Instead of focusing solely on finding the absolute lowest price right now, I'd suggest keeping an eye on Sony's official refurbished store. I ended up snagging my a7C (the 'R' wasn't out yet!) directly from them, and honestly, it was like new. Saved a good chunk of change that way. They often have 'bundles' too, but they're not always the best value. I'd price out the body separately vs. the bundle contents to be sure.

One thing I noticed is that the 'refurbished' cameras often come back because of returns – people change their minds, etc. – so they're practically untouched. Plus, Sony's refurb warranty is the same as the new warranty, which gave me peace of mind. I've had zero issues with mine since I got it.

Regarding Black Friday: It's a gamble. Sometimes there are amazing deals, sometimes it's just the same prices you see floating around throughout the year, just *advertised* as a Black Friday deal. I'd keep an eye on the refurbished store now, and if you don't see anything you like, then buckle up for the holiday sales. Good luck, and let us know what you end up doing! Happy shooting!

Hey! Yeah, the a7CR is tempting, isn't it? Instead of chasing deals, have you considered *why* you're drawn to it? Its resolution is amazing, but the a7C II offers similar features at a potentially lower price. I've tried both. The a7CR's extra megapixels only really shine with top-tier glass, which adds to the cost. Honestly, for most situations, the a7C II's slightly smaller sensor size is hardly noticeable. Consider if you truly need the a7CR's extreme resolution before committing. Happy to chat more about the differences!

Hey there! I see you're hunting for a deal on the a7CR, and I get it – it's a serious investment. While Reply #2 makes a valid point about *why* you want it, let's get practical about the cost. In my experience, especially with Sony gear, Black Friday deals can be a bit of a mirage. Over the years, I've noticed that the 'deals' often just bring the price down to around the standard discounted price you can find throughout the year.

Instead of holding your breath for November, I'd suggest setting up price alerts on sites like camelcamelcamel (for Amazon) and keep an eye on the authorized Sony dealers (B&H, Adorama, etc.). They often have open-box or refurbished options that can save you a significant chunk of change. I snagged my a7IV as a 'like new' open box from B&H, saved a few hundred, and it was indistinguishable from brand new.

Also, consider grey market options ONLY if you're comfortable potentially sacrificing the official Sony warranty. Many reputable sellers offer their own warranties, but read the fine print! I've tried many routes, and a discounted but warrantied option from a trustworthy dealer is usually the sweet spot. Good luck, and let us know if you find anything! Happy to help further if you have more questions.

Hey! I totally get wanting the a7CR! Instead of focusing on *where* to buy, maybe think about *who* you're buying *from*? I unfortunately had issues buying electronics from smaller, less-known online retailers. The warranty wasn't as good as expected, and returns were a nightmare. I'd suggest sticking with big names like Amazon or Best Buy, even if it costs a little more. Peace of mind is worth something, right? I once saved $50 on a lens, but the hassle wasn't worth it! Did you check those places? Good luck!
