What are the best charging docks for PS5 and PS5 Pro controllers?

Ive been using the standard front USB-C cable to charge my pads since 2020 but my desk setup is getting way too cluttered now that I added the DualSense Edge to the mix. I bought a cheap generic dock last week and it was a total disaster because the back paddles on the Pro controller kept hitting the base so it wouldnt even sit on the charging pins correctly. Im looking for something reliable under 40 bucks that actually handles the different shapes of the standard and Pro controllers without me having to strip the paddles off every night. Are there any specific brands that get the fit right or should I just suck it up and buy the official Sony one?

> back paddles on the Pro controller kept hitting the base I had that nightmare! Grab the Sony PlayStation 5 DualSense Charging Station because its fantastic. It fits both pads perfectly without removing anything! So good!

Like someone mentioned, those generic docks are usually a nightmare. I've tried many over the years and they always seem to fail right when you need them or they just dont fit the pro pads right... super frustrating when you wake up to a dead controller. Honestly, just go with Razer for this. You cant really go wrong with their charging stands.

  • The magnetic contact is way more reliable than those cheap spring-loaded pins I used to use.
  • They are designed with a low profile so the paddles on the back of the Edge wont catch on anything at all.
  • The base is actually heavy so it stays put on the desk instead of sliding around. I moved over to using their charging gear a while back and the reliability is just on another level compared to the budget stuff, plus it looks way cleaner.

@Reply #1 - good point! honestly i was in the same boat and ended up going with the PowerA Twin Charging Station for DualSense White. it works well with my edge controller and i dont have to mess with the paddles at all.

  • fits both pad types perfectly
  • super stable base
  • usually around $25 been using it for months and im pretty satisfied with it. way better than those generic clones tbh.

To add to the point above: i dealt with this exact issue when i finally added an edge controller to my setup. Basically, i was tired of the cable clutter but the first few docks i tried were just built wrong. One had a high plastic lip that hit the paddles so the pins wouldnt connect properly... super frustrating. Eventually found a model that has a much lower profile around the connector area. This one lets the controller sit high enough that the paddles dont touch the base at all. It wasnt some fancy name brand or anything, just a solid mid-range unit i found on sale. Honestly the most important thing i learned is checking the clearance near the back of the charging cradle. If its completely flat back there, youre usually golden. My current setup stays charged without any issues now and didnt cost a fortune to get working right.

Can confirm this works. Did the same thing on mine and its been solid ever since.
