So I finally treated myself and got the Sony RX100 VII for my trip to Tokyo next month and I am sooooo excited to start taking photos!! But I realized I have no way to take pictures of me and my boyfriend together without like... balancing the camera on a trash can or something lol. I know literally zero about tripods and they all look so big and scary on amazon. I just want something tiny that fits in my backpack but wont fall over if there is a breeze.

Is there a specific one that works best for this tiny camera? My budget is like 50 bucks maybe? Sorry if this is a super basic thing to ask I just dont want to buy the wrong thing and break my new camera on the first day...

Quick question tho, do you need flexible legs for railings or just a solid base? Joby GorillaPod 1K Kit with Ballhead is amazing and handles the 302g camera easily with its 1kg payload. Or try Ulanzi MT-16 Extendable Camera Tripod with Cold Shoe for height! Both use standard 1/4 inch mounts and are great!

I used the Manfrotto Pixi Mini Tripod MTPIXI-B on my last trip. It weighs 190g but has a 1kg load capacity, which handles that Sony easily. It is a decent option because the push-button mechanism makes leveling fast. I remember it staying stable on a windy bridge in Osaka. It usually costs about 25 dollars and fits the budget well.
