Can anyone tell me which leather half case I should pull the trigger on for my Sony RX100 VII before my flight on Tuesday? Im freaking out a bit because I just realized how much Im gonna be handling this camera on my trip to Rome and the grip is basically non-existent. Im torn between the Gariz leather case and the TP Original one I saw on Amazon. The Gariz looks amazing but its like eighty bucks which is steep for basically a piece of leather, but then Ive heard the TP one might feel a bit cheap or not fit the VII perfectly since the body changed slightly from the older models. I also looked at the official Sony LCJ-RXK jacket but it looks kinda bulky and I want to keep this thing pocketable. My budget is probably max $90 but Id rather stay around $60 if possible.
The most important thing for me is that it HAS to have the bottom opening for the battery and SD card because I swap those out constantly and I dont want to carry a screwdriver around Italy just to get my photos off. Is the Gariz worth the extra cash for the build quality or should I just save the money for pasta and go with the TP? I need to order this tonight so it gets here in time...

If you want your RX100 VII to actually feel like a premium tool while you are in Rome, you gotta go with the Gariz Genuine Leather Half Case for Sony RX100 VII. - Unfortunately, MegaGear MG1731 Ever Ready Leather Half Case Sony RX100 VII feels like thin cardboard.
- Get SmallRig L-Shape Grip for Sony RX100 VII LCS2438. Its way safer and has the battery access you need.

Honestly, I had a pretty disappointing experience trying to save money on accessories for this camera. I bought the TP Original Sony RX100 VII Genuine Leather Half Case last year and it just didnt live up to expectations. The fit was unfortunately a bit loose around the grip area, which made the camera feel less secure, not more. There are a few reasons why the budget options fall short:
- The leather often feels slick or plasticky, which doesnt solve your grip problem.
- Battery door hinges on cheaper models can be stiff and frustrating when swapping cards.
- Alignment is often off, sometimes interfering with the tilt screen movement. If you want it to actually last the trip, the Gariz Sony RX100 VII Genuine Leather Half Case Black is basically your only real choice. It is pricey, but the metal base provides a solid feel that the TP lacks. Buying the cheap one first was just a waste of money for me.
