What filters are you guys actually using for the ZV-1 when shooting outside in bright sun? Ive been a photographer for a decade so I get the exposure triangle and all that but this little Sony is giving me a headache with the fixed lens and that 1.8 aperture. Im heading to Zion next week for a hiking vlog and Im super stoked to try some 24fps cinematic stuff but the shutter speed is just way too high without an ND. I bought a cheap variable one but its giving me that weird X pattern and ruining the 4k footage. Should I just get a fixed ND8 or maybe a Mist filter too? Budget is around 100 bucks for the glass...

Regarding what #1 said about "Fixed filters are way more reliable than cheap...", I totally agree... unfortunately my first few VNDs were just disappointing. The color shift ruined everything and wasnt as good as I expected.

Same setup here, love it

Fixed filters are way more reliable than cheap VNDs. Id grab a Tiffen 52mm ND 0.9 Filter to avoid artifacts while hiking... it's a solid, safe bet for Zion.
