Are there any recommended leather cases for Sony compact cameras?

Hey everyone! I recently picked up a Sony RX100 VII to use as my primary travel camera, and while I absolutely love the image quality and portability, I am a bit worried about its durability. The body feels a little slippery in my hands, and I am terrified of accidentally dropping it or scratching the finish when I throw it in my backpack. I have been looking into getting a nice leather case to give it some solid protection and a more classic, vintage look, but I am feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the different options online.

I checked out the official Sony LCJ-RXK jacket, but it seems a bit bulky for what it is. I am really looking for something high-quality, ideally genuine leather, that does not interfere with the camera's functionality. My main requirements are:

  • It must provide a better textured grip for one-handed shooting
  • It needs to allow direct access to the battery and SD card slot without unscrewing the base
  • It should be slim enough to still fit in a jacket pocket

I have seen brands like Gariz and TP Original mentioned on various photography blogs, but I would love to hear from people who have actually used them long-term. Are they worth the extra investment, or are there some hidden gems on Etsy that I should consider instead? Does anyone have a specific leather case they swear by for their Sony compact?

Hmm, I've had a different experience with full jackets. They're way too bulky. If you want to keep it pocketable, go with a half-case instead.

I'm a beginner, so maybe consider these budget options. Just be careful:
