Honestly I am so fed up with these generic cases that claim to fit compact cameras but then my RX100 VII is just rattling around inside or the zipper is so sharp it literally scratched the corner of my thumb today. Its so frustrating because the whole point of a small camera is to have it be small and portable but every case I find on Amazon is either like a huge lunchbox or this tiny flimsy sock thing that offers zero protection if I actually drop it. Im getting really anxious about our trip to Tokyo next week because I dont want to just shove a $1000 camera in my backpack raw but I cant find anything that actually fits like a glove and stays slim.
Here is what I am looking for:
Does anyone have a specific brand they use for these Sonys? I keep looking at the official Sony leather ones but they are way overpriced and look kinda cheap honestly and I just really dont want to waste more money on stuff that doesnt work...
Regarding what #1 said about 'I almost ruined my screen with a generic...' I totally feel that because those generic socks are basically useless! You really need a rigid solution if youre hitting the streets in Tokyo. I absolutely love the USA Gear Hard Shell Camera Case with Belt Loop and Carabiner for my RX100 setup. It is fantastic because it uses a molded EVA foam that provides actual impact protection without being a huge lunchbox! Check these points out:
I've dragged my RX100 through ten countries. In my experience, the Manfrotto Nano I Camera Pouch is the only slim option with a secure belt loop. It fits perfectly and doesnt rattle.
I almost ruined my screen with a generic case once. You might want to consider the Lowepro Tahoe CS 20 Compact Camera Case because it’s padded enough to survive a nasty drop.
