Has anyone started tracking Sony Alpha 6400 Black Friday & Cyber Monday deals for 2025 yet? I’m looking to finally upgrade and wondering what kind of discounts we might realistically expect this year, especially on kits with the 16–50mm or 18–135mm lenses. Are bundle deals, gift cards, or refurb offers usually better than straight price cuts? Also, which retailers historically offer the best Sony mirrorless deals—Amazon, B&H, Best Buy, or local camera shops?

You can set price drop alert at WhenPriceDrop.com. They will alert you by email:

One tip: use a price-tracking tool such as whenpricedrop and check the A6400’s price history before Black Friday. Retailers sometimes raise prices in October, then “discount” back to normal in November. Genuine deals usually drop below the lowest price from the last 3–6 months. Also, don’t forget Cyber Monday and the week after—Sony and some retailers quietly extend or slightly sweeten the bundle offers then, especially on lens kits.

Tbh, I’m gonna have to politely disagree with the idea that those retailer bundles are the move. Most of those "free" extras like the cheap tripods or slow SD cards are pretty low-quality and you’ll end up replacing them in a month anyway lol. If you're looking to get serious, the real "DIY" deal is buying the Sony Alpha a6400 body-only and building your own kit from scratch. Instead of the kit lens, I’d suggest picking up something like the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary—the image quality and low-light performance are sooooo much better for basically the same total investment if you shop the sales right. Also, don't bother paying for professional sensor cleaning or those overpriced "protection" plans. Just grab a Giottos Rocket Air Blower and learn to maintain your gear yourself; it’s a standard skill you really should have if you're getting into mirrorless. Honestly, the self-service route saves you way more in the long run than any $50 gift card from a big box store ever will. Just make sure you're running the latest firmware for that real-time eye AF, and you're good to go!

I've been shooting with the a6400 since it basically came out, and it's a total workhorse. Before you dive into the holiday madness though, what are you actually planning to photograph most of the time? I mean, are we talking travel, sports, or maybe some vlogging? Knowing your subject will change which kit is actually a smart buy for you. Having lived with this body for years, my best advice is to look past the initial doorbuster price. The body is tough, but the battery life is basically the real weak point. If you see a bundle that includes a decent external charger and extra batteries, that's worth way more than a cheap kit bag. Well actually, try to make sure they are genuine Sony batteries if you can, as the third-party ones can be hit or miss with the firmware updates. Long-term essentials I'd look for:

If 2025 is anything like past years, don’t expect huge price cuts on the A6400 body alone. What I usually see is $100–$200 off plus some extras (memory card, bag, maybe a small tripod). The best value tends to be the 18–135mm kit when it’s discounted. Keep an eye on B&H and Adorama for legit bundles, and check Sony’s official refurbished store around Cyber Monday—you can sometimes score near‑new bodies with full warranty.
