What's the best all-around lens for a beginner vlogging with the Sony ZV-E10 II, considering its lack of in-body image stabilization (IBIS) and mechanical shutter? Beyond the 16-50mm kit lens, what affordable options offer superior image quality and autofocus for close-ups and wider shots, suitable for both vlogs and other content like car videos or Instagram posts? What are your experiences balancing image quality, autofocus, and ease of use with different lenses on this specific camera model?

^ This. Also, while the Sigma is a beast for photos, I actually think a wider lens is better for beginners on this specific body. I have been using the Sony E 10-18mm f/4 OSS and I am very satisfied with how it handles handheld stuff. Since the ZV-E10 II doesnt have IBIS, having that built-in OSS on the lens really helps smooth out the jitters. The Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 DC DN Contemporary is sharp, dont get me wrong, but 18mm feels way too tight for vlogging at arms length. You basically end up with your face filling the whole screen. The 10-18mm is much more forgiving for beginners. If you are worried about the price, finding one used is a great cost-effective move. It works well for car shots too since you can capture the whole interior easily. No complaints from me, its been a solid choice for my daily content. Let me know if you need help finding one at a good price!

For a beginner vlogger using the Sony ZV-E10 II, the Sony 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS II kit lens is actually a great starting point. It's compact, covers a versatile focal range for both talking head shots and b-roll, and the OSS helps with handheld footage. While not the sharpest lens in Sony's lineup, it's perfectly capable while you're learning the basics of vlogging.

If you're looking to upgrade, the Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 DC DN is an excellent all-around option. The constant f/2.8 aperture gives you better low-light performance and creamier background blur. It's reasonably priced, compact enough for vlogging, and produces sharper images than the kit lens.

For something specifically designed for vlogging, the Sony 10-18mm f/4 OSS gives you that ultra-wide angle that's perfect for handheld selfie-style videos, especially in tight spaces. The stabilization pairs well with the ZV-E10 II's digital stabilization for smoother footage while walking.

Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 is the best choice.
