I recently got my hands on the new Sony FX30 and I'm excited to start shooting some cinematic footage. I'm particularly interested in achieving the unique look of anamorphic lenses. I'd love to hear your recommendations for the best anamorphic lenses that are compatible with the Sony FX30.
Factors I'm considering are budget (preferably under $2000), ease of use, and overall image quality. I'm open to both vintage and modern options.
If you have experience with anamorphic lenses on the FX30 or similar cameras, please share your thoughts and any example footage if possible!
Here are some of the best anamorphic lenses compatible with the Sony FX30:
Sirui 50mm f/1.8 1.33x Anamorphic Lens
VAZEN 40mm T2 1.8x Anamorphic Lens
Atlas Orion 40mm T2 Anamorphic Lens
Sirui 35mm f/1.8 1.33x Anamorphic Lens

When choosing an anamorphic lens, consider factors such as your budget, desired squeeze ratio, and the overall look you want to achieve in your footage. Make sure to select a lens with the appropriate mount for your Sony FX30 camera.
I love my Sirui 50mm f/1.8 1.33x Anamorphic Lens. Very affordable and with great image quality.
For anamorphics on the FX30, I'd go with a 1.8x or 2x squeeze factor to really get that widescreen cinematic look, since the FX30 has a 1.6x crop sensor. The Vazen 85mm T2.8 1.8x is an excellent choice - it's purpose-built for Super35/APS-C and has beautiful sharpness, character and flares. The 85mm focal length is great for portraits and medium shots. You'll need to use an external monitor or desqueeze in post though.
Consider Laowa's anamorphic lenses in amber, blue, or silver. Available in 27mm, 35mm, and 50mm, they're relatively affordable for anamorphic at 1500 each.
