honestly so fed up with this kit lens it is ruining my Japan trip prep since every low light shot looks like total trash and im just done. I have 900 bucks and need something fast before I fly out next Tuesday. what is the best all-around zoom for the a6700 that actually stays sharp?

Regarding what #1 said about the Sigma... it wins on value. In my experience, Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 DC DN Contemporary is lighter and cheaper than the Tamron 17-70mm f/2.8 Di III-A VC RXD.

Regarding what #1 said about the Sigma... it is amazing!
- Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 DC DN Contemporary: Tiny hero.
- Sony E 16-55mm f/2.8 G: Pro beast. Sigma is perfect for Japan, you'll love it!

TL;DR: Sigma for size, Tamron for range. Both are fast.
- Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 DC DN Contemporary
- Tamron 17-70mm f/2.8 Di III-A VC RXD Ive had no complaints with the Sigma, works well.
