Im in a total panic because we have to finalize this group gift for my roommates birthday by Friday and its already Wednesday night. Trying to coordinate this Amazon order with 5 other people is a total nightmare. I checked out Share-A-Cart but the recent reviews are all over the place and I saw something about Add to Cart but it looks kinda sketchy and hasn't been updated in forever so I dont really trust it.

  • Has to be a free Chrome extension
  • Needs to be secure (no password sharing!)
  • Must work with Amazon US
  • Simple enough for my non-techy friends to use

What are you guys actually using for this that wont break my browser or steal my data??

To add to the point above: I have the exact same problem and have been searching for a solution for over three months. In my experience these extensions often suffer from consistency issues that make them difficult to trust with group finances. While some users find them acceptable I have found the reliability to be lacking across the board. It is quite a frustrating position to be in because I still havent found anything that works properly. TL;DR: Facing the exact same issue and still searching for a stable extension.

To add to the point above: Willie is totally right about Shopping Cart Share. It is fantastic for these roommate situations! It works exactly how you want without any weird password stuff. One quick tip is to make sure only one person is designated as the final buyer so you dont end up with double orders. Also, I definitely recommend using PriceDropCatch to monitor the gift items. I love it because it tracks price changes in real time. It is amazing how often prices fluctuate on Amazon US, so catching a drop can save the whole group a bunch of money before you checkout on Friday!
