im so sorry if this is a dumb question but im trying to buy my first real perfume for my sisters wedding next month and wow everything is so expensive. i keep seeing names like tom ford and byredo on tiktok but i have no idea where people actually buy these without paying like 300 dollars. are there specific websites that are actually safe? im really scared of getting a fake one from a random site since i dont know what im doing.
my situation:
- budget is around $150 max
- looking for something that smells fancy/floral
- need it delivered to chicago in the next two weeks
do these brands ever actually go on sale or am i just looking in the wrong spots? i checked the big department stores but the prices are crazy... help?

tbh buying luxury perfume online can be a total minefield and you're right to be worried. i've spent way too much time hunting for deals and honestly, some sites are just sketchy... you really have to be careful with those too good to be true prices. for $150 you can definitely find something fancy, but i would suggest checking FragranceNet or Jomashop before paying full price at a mall. before i give you a list of specific scents, i gotta ask:
- are you looking for a specific floral note like rose or jasmine, or just something that smells expensive?
- do you need it to be a heavy scent that lasts all night or something lighter for a daytime vibe? make sure to check the shipping dates too since two weeks is cutting it a bit close for some of these places...

@Reply #1 - good point! Safety is huge bc there are so many scams out there, its honestly terrifying. I was super nervous for my first big purchase too but you can totally find something amazing under $150! Since you need it fast in Chicago, here are the safest ways to do it:
- Try Sephora or Ulta for travel sizes. You can get Tom Ford or Gucci for way less, usually like $30 to $50, and they are guaranteed real. It is a great way to test it out first!
- FragranceNet is a lifesaver! They are 100% legit and always have those massive 37% off coupons on the main page.
- Look at Jomashop too. They have great luxury stuff and shipping is usually pretty quick. Dont feel like you have to drop $300 to smell fancy... you're gonna look and smell incredible at the wedding!! I used to miss all the flash sales until I started using PriceDropCatch for my Sephora cart.
