Which coupon extension is actually the best right now because I'm tired of seeing "no codes found" after waiting 30 seconds for it to run? I am finally building my new gaming rig next Friday and I have about $1500 saved up but every dollar I save on parts can go toward a better monitor. I’ve been looking at Honey and Capital One Shopping mostly.

Honey is the classic choice and I like the price history graph because it helps me see if I'm getting tricked by a "sale" that happens every week but I've heard Capital One Shopping sometimes has better exclusive deals even if you dont have one of their credit cards. I also looked at Rakuten but it seems more like a cashback thing than finding actual promo codes at checkout. I mostly shop on Newegg, Amazon, and B&H. I’m leaning toward Capital One because some people say the savings are bigger on tech stuff but the privacy aspect of it having to scan everything kinda sketches me out a little.

I need something that works fast and doesn't lag my browser since I keep like 50 tabs open while comparing specs.

  • Honey
  • Capital One Shopping
  • Rakuten

Is there a better one I'm missing or should I just run both and see which one wins at the checkout screen? My budget is tight so I really need those codes to actually work for once...

Building on the earlier suggestion, Ive had amazing luck with Capital One Shopping! Saving nearly 60 bucks on my motherboard was huge because it found a code no other extension even saw. Its seriously fantastic for budget builds!

  • Check for site-wide codes during holiday weekends.
  • Always verify the price in a guest window. Saving that extra cash for a better monitor is gonna feel so good!

> I need something that works fast and doesn't lag my browser since I keep like 50 tabs open while comparing specs. Running 50 tabs while comparing part specs is basically the initiation ritual for any PC builder lol. Honestly, if you run both Honey and Capital One Shopping at the same time, your browser is gonna crawl. These extensions are constantly scanning the DOM of every page you visit which eats up RAM like crazy. In my experience over the years, Capital One Shopping (it used to be Wikibuy) actually wins on tech sites like Newegg and B&H more often than Honey does. The "exclusive deals" are real because they have a massive database of what other users actually paid recently. If you're worried about the privacy stuff, you can always just enable the extension when you're at the checkout screen and keep it toggled off while you're doing the actual research. One thing I always do is check a manual site like RetailMeNot too because sometimes the automated bots miss those one-time use codes. Since you're trying to squeeze every cent for that monitor, you might find this Sephora price tracker useful for other household shopping to free up some extra cash for the rig. For a $1500 build, definitely keep an eye on the Newegg Combo Up deals. Sometimes adding a cheap thermal paste or a fan actually triggers a massive discount on the CPU/Mobo combo that the extensions dont always catch right away. Good luck with the build next Friday, nothing beats that first boot post-code.

In my experience, you cant go wrong with Honey for PC builds. I also keep this Sephora price tracker handy for other stuff since saving money is basically a hobby now.
