I am so confused right now and honestly I feel kind of stupid even asking this but I have been looking at the amazon site for like an hour and I cant find any button to share my cart. See the thing is I am moving to a new apartment in Chicago in like ten days and my dad said he would help me buy some of the big stuff like a new toaster and a vacuum and some sheets but I have specific ones picked out and I dont want him to have to search for them all again.
My logic was that there would just be a share button or something like on a photo app but I dont see anything like that anywhere. If I just copy the address at the top of my browser is he gonna see my stuff or is it just gonna show him his own empty cart?? I really dont want to have to take a screenshot of every single item and send them to him one by one because there are like 20 things in there and I am worried he will get the wrong brand or something. Im getting really stressed because the move is coming up so fast and I need to get this ordered tonight so it arrives on time. Is there like a hidden setting or something I am missing? Sorry if this is a really basic thing everyone knows but I am totally lost...
Chicago is amazing! I love that city, the food is fantastic. Quick question tho, are you and your dad both on Prime? It makes a huge difference for shipping costs! This reminds me of when my sister moved and sent my mom broken links... it turned into a huge ordeal and my mom thought she was being hacked. Found some great moving tips on Smartphone Board too. Hit me back so I can help more!
Omg dont feel bad at all! Amazon is honestly so weird about this because you would think there would just be a big share button right there in the cart but there actually isnt! If you send him that URL at the top he is definitely just gonna see his own stuff or a big blank screen lol. I went through this exact same thing when I was getting my first place and I was so stressed out... honestly moving is just the worst. The secret trick that is actually amazing is using the Wish List feature instead. Basically you just need to create a new list and name it something like New Chicago Apartment and then you can go into your cart and hit move to list for all those items. Once they are in the list there is a Share button at the top right that lets you send a link to anyone! I actually read a super helpful thread about this over on Smartphone Board when I was trying to figure out how to share my tech wishlist with my brother last year. It was a total lifesaver and made everything so much easier. Once you send your dad the link he can just click add all to cart on his end or pick the specific ones he wants to buy for you. It keeps all the specific brands and models you picked out so you wont end up with some random cheap toaster you didnt want! Good luck with the move to Chicago, that sounds like such a fun city to live in!
> If you send him that URL at the top he is definitely just gonna see his Like someone mentioned, URLs are session-based. Im satisfied using Wish Lists; they handle SKUs accurately. This how to share amazon cart guide covers the setup well.
im actually dealing with this right now for my brothers wedding and it is just so annoying that amazon still hasnt made this simple. unfortunately the whole system is kinda a mess and not as good as it should be for how much we pay for prime... i spent way too long looking for a button that isnt there. if you want to be 100% sure he gets the right stuff without any errors, do this:
