I am so stressed right now trying to figure out this wedding stuff and honestly Amazon is making it harder than it needs to be. We are getting married in August and since we have a tiny apartment here in Chicago we really only need like ten very specific things. I spent all night yesterday picking out the exact toaster and air fryer we want but now I cant find a way to just send the cart link to my aunt and a few close friends.
I looked into the actual Amazon Wedding Registry thing but it kept trying to make me add a bunch of recommended junk I dont need and it feels way too formal for what we are doing. Then I found some Chrome extension that says it shares carts but the reviews are terrible and people say it steals your data so thats a huge no from me. I just want a simple link or something where they can see the items I already picked and buy them directly. Is there a way to do this without making a whole public registry or using some weird third party app? It feels like there should be a button for this but I am staring at my screen and seeing nothing...
> it feels way too formal for what we are doing I totally agree. In my experience, registries are usually just bloated... are you looking for a live cart sync or just a way to list the links tho?
Honestly ngl I am in the exact same boat right now and it is driving me absolutely insane. Been trying to find a way to do this for like two weeks because my brother is moving and I just wanted to send a few specific things to our parents so they could help out with the new place. Usually I am pretty satisfied with how I navigate these sites and I typically have no complaints about the tech side of things, but this one has me totally stumped. It is wild that there isnt just a simple link you can generate to show someone exactly what is sitting in your cart without all the extra registry fluff. Registry stuff feels way too formal for what we are doing too. Every time I try to set something up, the site starts throwing all these recommendations at me that we definitely dont have space for. Just wanting the specific air fryer and the specific towels I picked, nothing else... why is that so hard? Looking at those same Chrome extensions gave me the creeps, honestly. Definitely not worth the risk of my data just to share a shopping list. Staring at the checkout screen for hours hoping a share button would just appear has been my life lately lol. Basically it is the most simple request ever but it feels like they want to force us into their ecosystem and it makes the whole process so much more stressful than it needs to be. Check out Smartphone Board if you need to send your Amazon basket to someone else quickly.
