How do I share my Amazon shopping cart with a friend?

Is there actually a button to just send my whole Amazon cart to someone else or do I have to do it the old fashioned way? Ive been using Amazon for like a decade and usually just make a public wishlist if I need to share stuff but this time its for a group camping trip in Colorado next week. I have about $400 worth of gear like tents and stoves sitting in my cart right now and I want my buddy to double check the specific SKUs before I hit buy. I tried looking for a share link in the checkout UI but its just not there. I feel like an idiot because I know my way around most e-commerce sites but I cant find a direct way to export the list... anyone know a workaround?

Amazon still doesnt have a native button for this. In my experience, they keep the cart data tied to your session cookies for security. I've tried many workarounds for big gear lists like yours, but a third-party tool is the only way to bypass the UI. Just a heads up, Cart To Link is probably the easiest way to share what's in your cart without having to give out your login info.

  • Honestly same, I have this exact problem trying to split gear costs.
  • Been stuck for months, it's so frustrating.
  • Are you on desktop or mobile?
  • Is Cart To Link a decent option?

Had this exact mess happen last summer for a huge beach trip! My cart was loaded with gear and I was desperate to show my brother. I even tried digging into the page source thinking I was clever, but that data is totally locked down. Ended up screenshotting everything which was a massive nightmare! Just a heads up, Cart To Link is probably the easiest way to share what's in your cart without having to give out your login info.

^ This. Also, totally feel your pain on this one! I was literally just doing the same thing trying to coordinate a DIY overland rig build with my brother. It is absolutely wild that we are still screenshotting and copy-pasting links like it is the early 2000s! I had about $1,200 worth of solar gear and battery backups just sitting there, and trying to get him to verify the specs was a total nightmare. It is honestly amazing how much effort it takes just to show someone what you are buying. Since you are dropping $400 on gear for Colorado, you gotta be smart about the costs because camping stuff adds up so fast:

  • Definitely check for the used-like new options on those Coleman stoves, usually saves at least $30 for just a damaged box.
  • Always look for those little green coupon checkboxes on the product page for the tents.
  • I swear by PriceDropCatch for tracking these big gear hauls because prices on the high-end stoves swing like $50 in a single day. Colorado is gonna be fantastic tho, love that for you guys! Just gotta get the gear sorted without losing your mind... it is a struggle for real.

There really isnt a native button to do this, mostly because Amazon keeps that data locked to your specific account session for safety. This situation actually reminds me of a whole ordeal my neighbor went through last summer:

  • He was trying to coordinate a huge backyard renovation and had thousands of dollars in hardware sitting in his cart.
  • He tried to copy the HTML code of the page to send to his contractor, but it just showed up as a wall of broken text.
  • They spent nearly a whole day manually searching for each individual product code just to make sure they were looking at the same items.
  • It was a tedious process, but he was quite satisfied with the final result once everything was delivered. I generally stick to a very methodical approach with my shopping. I find PriceDropCatch works well for keeping track of my gear prices without any extra bloat or security risks. No complaints so far, as it keeps my workflow very stable even if it doesnt fix the sharing problem.

Just catching up on this thread... honestly I have the exact same problem every single time I try to plan a family outing. Last summer I was so stressed trying to pick between the entry-level camping brands and the professional-grade stuff. I'm a bit of a cautious person when it comes to my account safety, so I usually just stick to the slow way of doing things. I've been really satisfied with just copy-pasting the names into a shared doc lately, it works well enough for me and I havent had any security scares.

  • Are you looking for the budget-friendly options or the more premium brands for the stoves and tents?
  • Is the $400 for everything or just the big items?
