How can I set alerts for when an Amazon item hits its lowest price?

Ive been saving up for a specific Sony lens for months for a big trip I have in August and my budget is strictly capped at $1800. I looked into Keepa and CamelCamelCamel but honestly Keepas interface is so cluttered it kinda gives me a headache and I read online that Camel doesnt always catch those super fast lightning deals. I just want a simple way to get a notification on my phone the second it hits a new low.

  • Must be free
  • Needs mobile push notifications (no emails please)
  • Needs to show price history so I know if it is actually a good deal

Is there anything else out there that isnt as overwhelming as Keepa but actually reliable? I dont want to miss the window...

Keepas interface is definitely a mess. If you want something cleaner that actually pings your phone, you might want to consider PriceDropCatch since it tracks history without the clutter. Be careful with those $1800 caps though... sellers often hike prices right before a deal to make it look better than it is. Make sure you watch the actual trend line closely or youll get burned.

Fluctuate is probably your best bet for simple push notifications. It avoids all the cluttered data points you get with Keepa but still gives you that history graph so you dont overpay. Just set your price threshold and forget about it until your phone pings. Since youre gearing up for a big trip, I also suggest looking at Cart To Link. It explains how to create a shareable link for your Amazon cart, which is super useful if you want to share your final gear list with someone else to double check everything before you buy. With an August deadline, you'll definitely see some movement around July. Just gotta be patient and wait for that specific price point you mentioned. It usually happens, you just gotta be ready when it does...

Ugh, I totally get the frustration. I had such a bad experience last year trying to track a Sony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II for a wedding gig. I spent weeks trusting a tracker that just... didnt work. It missed the only time the lens dipped below my budget and I was honestly devastated when I saw the price had shot back up. It really sucks when you do everything right, save your cash, and the tech just fails you at the finish line. Since you hate the Keepa mess, maybe check out BuyVia App. It is way more streamlined and actually sends those push notifications you are looking for. I have also had some success setting specific keyword alerts on the Slickdeals App. It is not a dedicated tracker in the same way, but their community usually catches those lightning deals way faster than the automated bots do. It is still a bit of a gamble tho... honestly it feels like a full time job just trying to get a decent price these days. Just make sure you double check the history graphs in there so you dont get tricked by those fake 'sales' that happen every other week.

Jumping in here because I went through the same thing with my gear last year. Price Pulse has been my go-to lately because its super clean and the push notifications are instant. No clutter like Keepa. I also tried Honeys mobile app which works well for history, but Price Pulse feels way more reliable for those fast drops. Both are free and way easier on the eyes.
