im so stressed right now because i just started this new job as an office assistant and they put me in charge of the amazon business account but i have no idea what im doing. sorry if this is a dumb question but i really dont want to mess up and spend company money without permission. my boss told me i need to send him the cart so he can check it and say yes or no before I actually hit buy. is that even possible??
i cant find a share button or anything and i'm worried if i just give him my password he'll see my personal stuff too because i think i linked them by mistake. i need to get all this stuff ordered by next tuesday for our meeting and the pressure is really getting to me. our budget is only $450 for everything but i have a lot of items in there right now like:
can i just send him a link to the cart or is there a special way to do it through the business settings? i keep looking at the screen and getting more confused lol. if i just take a screenshot is that enough or is there like a professional way to do this so he can just click "approve" or something? i really dont want to get fired in my first week because i couldnt figure out a shopping cart...
Omg I totally feel you! I was so scared of messing up my first week too! @Reply #1 - good point! the permissions can be a nightmare. What saved me was the Approval Workflow in the business settings! You basically add your boss as an Approver. When you hit submit, it freezes the order and pings him to say yes or no. Its fantastic and keeps your personal stuff totally separate! Good luck with those ergonomic chairs!!
> is that even possible?? @Reply #2 - good point! Unfortunately, I had issues with the workflow tool. It glitched and we overspent our budget once. I now use the Lists feature instead.
Honestly, it is a bit of a mess. Unfortunately, Amazons shared cart feature is not as good as expected and i have had issues with the permissions system glitching out on me more than once. Its not as smooth as it should be. You definitely dont want to give your boss your password tho... thats a huge safety risk especially since you think your personal account is linked. Basically, you gotta dive into the business settings to set up a proper approval workflow, but it can be a total headache. Since you are stressed about the budget, just stick with any of the office gear from Amazon Basics. You really cant go wrong with their bulk supplies to stay under that 450 limit. For the printer, just get the genuine stuff from Brother because the off-brand ink usually fails when you need it most.
