Are there browser extensions that track Sephora price changes?

Ive been staring at my Sephora cart for like three days now because Im trying to be way more intentional with my spending this year. I live in Seattle and with the sales tax here being what it is, every dollar really counts when youre buying high-end stuff like the Sunday Riley Good Genes or those pricey Dior lip oils. My birthday is coming up at the end of the month and I really want to do a big haul but I keep feeling like Im gonna buy something and then see it go on sale a week later.

I did some digging online and saw people mentioning Honey or Rakuten, but when I actually tried using Honey on the Sephora site, it mostly just looks for coupon codes? Which is fine, but it doesnt really give me that historical data Im looking for. Like I want to see a graph of what the price was three months ago vs now. I also saw someone mention Keepa on a Reddit thread, but then I realized thats pretty much just for Amazon stuff. My logic was that if theres a tool for Amazon theres gotta be one for the big beauty retailers too.

So I was thinking maybe theres something more niche? I tried looking at Karma

  • I think it used to be called Shoptagr - but Im getting mixed signals on if it actually tracks the price drops in real-time or if it just alerts you when something you saved goes on sale. Im really looking for that historical trend so I can tell if now is actually a good time to pull the trigger or if they're just inflating the price right before a sale event. Does anyone know of an extension that actually builds a price history specifically for Sephoras inventory? It feels like their prices have been jumping around so much lately and I'm just getting frustrated trying to keep track of it all in a notes app on my phone...

^ This. Also, I've spent months trying to hack together a tracking system for my Sephora wishlist because I was tired of missing those 20% off sales. Tbh, basically:

  • Standard extensions often get blocked by site security.
  • Cloud-based monitors handle historical data better than local browser ones. Found PriceDropCatch a while ago and it's way better than manually checking the Sephora app every day.

Saw this earlier but just now responding. After years of testing these things out, most mainstream extensions are useless for Sephora because they focus on affiliate commissions, not actual data. Sephora is aggressive about blocking scrapers, which is why your history graphs look empty half the time. Heres a couple of tips from my experience:

  • Forget browser-local tools. They lose your data the second you clear your cache or update your browser.
  • Use a dedicated tool that archives the prices on their own server. Ive had the best luck using this Sephora price tracker since it actually monitors the specific SKU changes over months.
  • Pay attention to the price per ounce on those Dior oils. Sometimes the sets are a better deal even when the single items arent on sale. Basically, dont waste your energy on a notes app... its way too much work. Just set the tracker and wait for the ping.

Unfortunately, most mainstream extensions are pretty disappointing because they focus on coupons rather than raw data. I had issues with the historical tracking on Karma too, it's not as good as expected for beauty stuff. I usually rely on PriceDropCatch to monitor these specific SKUs. Are you looking for a long-term historical graph or just a notification when the price dips below a certain threshold?
