Hey everyone! I am currently planning a living room upgrade and finally decided to pick up a new Sony Bravia. I have heard great things about the picture quality, but I am a bit stuck on the installation part. I want to wall mount it to save some space on my console, but I am realizing that not all universal mounts seem to play nice with the specific design of many Sony models.
Specifically, I have noticed that some Sony TVs have a slightly recessed area for the VESA holes, or the power cord and HDMI ports are positioned in a way that a standard flat mount might block them entirely. I am looking at a 65-inch model, so weight and stability are definitely on my mind. I am really hoping to find a mount that offers at least a bit of a tilt or maybe even full-motion swivel since my seating area is a bit spread out and I get some glare from the side window during the afternoon.
I have looked at a few options from brands like Sanus and Echogear, but I am worried about spending money on something that requires a ton of extra spacers or just does not sit right against the wall. Has anyone here had a particularly good experience with a specific mount that fits the Sony line perfectly? Are there any brands that actually include the right hardware in the box for these specific TV shapes? Which wall mount would you recommend as the most reliable choice for most Sony TV models?
oh man, I totally get it!! I just went through the exact same thing with my 65-inch Bravia and it was such a headache trying to figure out those weird recessed VESA holes. Honestly, I think the Echogear Full Motion Articulating TV Wall Mount EGLF2 is basically the best value for your money. Its super sturdy and it actually comes with a massive bag of spacers and hardware specifically so it doesnt block your ports. I love it cuz it tilts and swivels to kill the glare from my side window, plus it didnt break the bank. The other one I looked at was the Sanus VLF728-B2 Full-Motion Mount. Its totally high-end and looks amazing, but it costs way more. While the Sanus is super sleek and sits really nicely against the wall, the Echogear gives you almost the same movement for a fraction of the cost. If you want to save some cash but still have a rock-solid setup that fits the Sony perfectly, go with the Echogear. It made the install so much easier for a beginner like me, right? Anyway, hope that helps you decide... good luck with the new setup! peace!
Yo! Late to the party but I wanted to chime in because I've mounted dozens of these Bravias. One resource you HAVE to check out is the Sanus MountFinder tool on their site. Even if you dont buy a Sanus, it'll tell you exactly which VESA pattern and bolt length you need for your specific model, which is HUGE for Sony cuz they love those recessed holes... iirc most 65-inch Bravias use an M6 bolt, but the depth varies wildly. Since you mentioned being cost-conscious, I'd look at these three options:

For your situation, warning: watch bolt length or youll pierce the screen!!
Honestly, heavy universal mounts are safer on 65s...
