So I just got this huge Sony Bravia TV last week and I'm honestly so excited about it the picture looks incredible but everyone keeps telling me the built in speakers are kinda weak and I should get a soundbar. Honestly I have no idea where to start with this stuff so sorry if this is a really dumb question lol. I was looking at the back of the TV and there are so many holes and ports and I'm just worried I'm gonna buy something that doesnt even plug in right or needs ten different remotes to work.
My logic was that if I stay with the same brand it might be easier? Like would a Sony soundbar talk to a Sony TV better than like a Samsung or a Sonos one would? I saw one at the store that said Dolby Atmos on the box and I think that's the good one right? But then I saw another one that had a separate big box for the floor and I dont know if that's overkill for my small living room here in Chicago. I'm mostly gonna be using it for late night movies and some casual gaming on my PS5 when I have time.
My budget is around $400 maybe a bit more if it's really worth it but I'm hoping to get this set up by next Friday before my friends come over for a horror movie marathon. I'm just so confused about the whole eARC thing people talk about online does that just mean one cable? And will my regular Sony remote still change the volume or am I gonna have to juggle two of them? I really just want something that makes the voices clear because sometimes the music is way louder than the people talking and it's super annoying.
I've been staring at Amazon for two hours and my head is spinning so if anyone has a specific model they love for their Bravia please let me know...
Tbh if youre in a small apartment in Chicago, be really careful with those huge separate subwoofers. They can rattle the floor and definitely annoy neighbors during late night horror marathons. I would suggest looking at the Sony HT-A3000 3.1ch Dolby Atmos Soundbar instead. It is basically built to pair with your Bravia and has a dedicated center channel that makes voices way clearer than standard speakers... which sounds like exactly what you need. It is usually around $400 or so depending on the sale. Just make sure to use a high-quality HDMI cable in that eARC port tho. Sometimes the ones included in the box are kinda flimsy and might cause flickering on your PS5. You wont need ten remotes either since it will sync up automatically. It might be tempting to get a cheaper off-brand but be careful because the sync features are often hit or miss with other manufacturers. If you get stuck on the settings just ask here.
What are the room dimensions? The Sonos Beam Gen 2 Compact Smart Soundbar works great without a floor sub, though youll lose the Bravia menu sync features using non-Sony gear.
Did this last week, worked perfectly
You are totally right to stick with Sony! It makes everything so much easier because of a feature called Bravia Sync. Basically, the TV and soundbar talk to each other so you only ever need your TV remote for volume. I highly recommend checking out the Sony HT-S2000 3.1ch Dolby Atmos Soundbar. It is incredible and works perfectly with your PS5! Here is why it fits your setup:
