Which Sony headphone is best for professional studio monitoring and mixing?

I am honestly so fed up with my current setup because my mixes just arent translating at all. I spent six hours on a track last night and when I checked it in the car this morning it was literally unlistenable, the bass was just a muddy mess even though it sounded clean in my ears. My logic was that my old open-backs would be enough but they're just too polite or something? I dont know. I need a pair of Sonys because I've heard they have that clinical truth but I'm totally stuck on which ones to actually buy.

So I was thinking maybe the classic MDR-7506 because everyone has them but then I read they're too harsh for long sessions and honestly my ears already hurt after two hours of work. Then I saw the new MDR-M1 closed backs and the MV1 open backs. The MV1s look comfortable but I'm worried about sound leakage since I live in a noisy apartment near a train line in London and I need to be able to track vocals too sometimes without the beat bleeding into the mic. My budget is around 350 quid and I really need to get this sorted by Friday before my next session.

Is the MDR-M1 actually a real upgrade for mixing or just marketing hype? Or should I just stick with the 7506 and just learn to deal with the treble? I just want something that wont lie to me anymore...

Agree with Reply 1, but be careful with M1 bass. Ive botched masters by over-compensating before.

Definitely grab the Sony MDR-M1 Professional Closed-Back Studio Headphones! Theyre fantastic. Total lifesavers for noisy flats. My mixes finally translate perfectly and youll absolutely love them, honestly!
