I've got a 14-hour flight coming up next month and I'm looking to upgrade my gear. I've heard amazing things about Sony's noise-canceling tech, but I'm torn between a few models. Comfort is my top priority since I'll be wearing them for hours on end, and I really need something that can block out engine hum and cabin noise effectively. I'm looking at the WH-1000XM5s, but I've heard the XM4s fold better for travel. Also, how is the battery life on these for back-to-back long-haul legs? Between the over-ear XM series and their high-end earbuds, which Sony model would you recommend for maximum comfort and silence during a long international trip?

yo! i totally get it, those 14-hour hauls are basically a marathon for your ears. ok so, here is the deal with noise-canceling: it basically uses mics to phase out that constant engine hum. it's huge because it actually stops your brain from getting fried by the background noise during the trip. for your situation, i'd suggest looking at the budget-friendly side of the lineup. i've tried many headphones over the years, and while the high-end ones are great, you can get like 90% of the performance for way less. for a solid value pick, check out the Sony WH-CH720N Noise Canceling Wireless Over-Ear Headphones. they're usually around $100-$130 and honestly, they're so lightweight you almost forget they're on your head, which is key for long flights. if you really want that top-tier silence, the Sony WH-1000XM4 Wireless Noise Canceling Headphones are definitely the travel kings like others have mentioned, but i'd only snag them if they're on a deep sale (look for $230 or less!). i'd probably avoid the earbuds for a flight that long... your ear canals will thank me later lol. plus, the battery on the over-ears is insane, usually 30-35 hours, so you dont even need to pack a charger in your personal item. save that extra cash for your actual vacation! gl!!

Tbh Sony WH-1000XM5 Wireless Noise Canceling Headphones build was unfortunately not as good as expected. Just get Sony WH-1000XM4 Wireless Noise Canceling Headphones... they fold better, cost less, and the 30hr battery is perfect, right?
