Ive been using Sony gear for years but Im hitting a wall with my upcoming trip. Ive got a 14-hour flight to Tokyo next month and my old set is giving me crazy cabin pressure fatigue after just a few hours, its driving me nuts.

So I was thinking of just grabbing the WH-1000XM5s but then my logic got all tripped up because people say the XM4s actually fold better for travel? Im trying to pack light but I need the absolute best ANC for engine noise. Im stuck between the better tech and the actual portability and comfort for a long haul. Are the XM5s really worth the extra bulk in a carry-on or should I just stick to the older ones...?
