honestly im so done with my current setup. Ive been using these old consumer cans for my home studio work and my mixes sound like trash when I play them in the car its actually making me so stressed out.

I have an EP that needs to be finished by the end of next month and I literally cant trust what im hearing anymore. I need something industry standard but also comfortable because I wear them for hours. My budget is around 350 bucks. Everyone keeps saying Sony is the way to go for pro stuff but there are so many models... should I just get the classic 7506s or is there a better Sony model for actual professional mixing?

I was in your shoes and just went with the Sony MDR-7506 40mm Neodymium Drivers Closed-Back Professional Headphones. They are basically the industry standard and for good reason. Im super satisfied with mine because they just work well and I dont have to guess my low end anymore... No complaints at all, they are a very safe choice for finishing that EP.

Also, since your budget is $350, you should definitely look at the Sony MDR-MV1 Open-Back Reference Monitor Headphones. While the 7506s are solid for tracking, the MV1 is specifically engineered for mixing and spatial audio. I've been using them for a few months and im incredibly satisfied with the accuracy. The specs are impressive—the drivers provide a 5Hz to 80kHz frequency response which is crucial for catching low-end phase issues. Since they are open-back, the soundstage is way wider than the 7506, which helps with those car test translation problems you're having. They weigh almost nothing... only about 223 grams without the cable. Honestly, they’re the most comfortable Sony pair I’ve ever owned. If you're doing long production marathons, your ears wont feel as fatigued. No complaints from me.
