Hey everyone,
Anyone seen any good deals popping up for the Sony FX2 on Black Friday or Cyber Monday? I'm specifically hoping to find a discount on the body itself or maybe a bundle with a decent lens or extra batteries. I know it's a popular camera, so deals might be slim, but I figured it's worth checking if anyone's spotted anything. Really hoping to snag one before the end of the year. Any leads or suggestions would be hugely appreciated! Where are you all looking, and have you found anything promising so far?
> Regarding what #4 said about "I'm in the exact same position and it has been incredibly frustrating." Ngl I went through this exact same thing when I was deciding between the Sony and the Panasonic LUMIX S5IIX. Sony just doesnt seem to budge on price for the cinema gear during the holidays like other brands do. You might want to consider looking at the Canon EOS R6 Mark II if you arent already deep in the Sony glass ecosystem. I found that Canon usually runs much better body-only promos during Black Friday. Whatever you do, make sure to avoid the weird "international version" listings you see on some marketplaces. I made that mistake once with a Sony Alpha 7 IV and ended up with a camera that had zero manufacturer warranty. It was a nightmare to deal with when the sensor started acting up. If you do find a bundle, just check that the extras are actually worth it. Most of those kits include a cheap SanDisk 128GB Extreme PRO SDXC that you could buy yourself for twenty bucks. I would suggest holding out for a reputable dealer even if it means no discount... just for the safety of that warranty. Gear this expensive isnt worth the risk of a grey market seller.

Honestly, I went through the same struggle when I was upgrading my kit last year. I spent weeks hunting for a bargain but kept running into those too good to be true listings on random sites. Ngl, I almost got burned by a gray market deal that didn't include the official manufacturer warranty. I ended up prioritizing a seller with a rock-solid return policy instead because I was worried about getting a unit with technical glitches or something. I think? It just feels safer when you're dropping that much cash on a body like the FX2. Just to get a better idea of what you're after:
I'm in the exact same position and it has been incredibly frustrating. Checking the major retailers daily for about six weeks has yielded zero price movement on the FX2 body. Its starting to feel like Sony is holding firm on the MSRP for this cycle tho. Because of the lack of deals, I actually got distracted looking into cable management solutions for my entire editing desk. Spent hours yesterday measuring my power strips and looking at under-desk trays just to feel like I was making progress on something... anyway. Let me know if you find anything because im still coming up empty.
