I'm in the market for a new Sony camera and I'm wondering if anyone has come across any great deals lately? I'm open to different models, from entry-level to more advanced, depending on the price.

If anyone has purchased a Sony camera recently and found a particularly good deal, I'd love to hear about it. Or if you have any other suggestions for models to look out for deals on, that would be great too.

If you have EDU email, you can get discount at B&H and Adorama.

@Sadie I love EDU deals, they are much cheaper than original price.

Like someone mentioned, those used sites are definitely the way to go, but before you drop any cash, what are you actually gonna be shooting? Are we talking high-speed sports, landscapes, or maybe just casual family stuff? Knowing your rough budget would help too because advanced gear gets real expensive real fast lol. Honestly tho, I've been super satisfied just hunting for open-box units at local shops. I picked up a Sony A7R III 42.4MP Full-Frame Mirrorless Camera a while back and it works well for everything I throw at it. My whole philosophy is that it's usually better to get a slightly older flagship than a brand new entry-level model. You get way better build quality and more physical buttons which makes changing settings so much faster when you're in the middle of a shoot. Plus, the sensor in the older R series is still absolutely killer for high-res shots. I've had zero complaints going this route... just gotta make sure the shutter count isnt sky high if you buy from a private seller.

You can always find best deals at Amazon deals page for Sony: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?Ntt=Deals+Camera+Photo&BI=8941&KBID=10361&SID=12345&DFF=d50

To add to the point above regarding used gear sites: I've found over the years that reliability is paramount when investing in these systems. While those big retailers are safe, specialized enthusiast forums often have excellent listings for gear like the Sony Alpha a7R IV or the Sony Alpha a7 IV from owners who really baby their equipment. One quick tip for those concerned about safety: always verify the shutter count and request high-res images of the sensor before sending any money. If you prefer a more formal route, dont overlook local authorized Sony dealers. They often carry open box units that are basically new but discounted, and you still get the full manufacturer warranty which is a huge safety net. Just saw this thread and figured Id share that since nobody mentioned the local shop route yet.

Hey there! I recently picked up a great deal on a Sony A6400 mirrorless camera. I got the body plus the 16-50mm kit lens for 898 100 off the usual price. Definitely keep an eye on Amazon, B&H Photo and Adorama - they often have rotating deals on Sony cameras and lenses. The A6400 is awesome if you're looking for a compact mirrorless cam with great autofocus and 4K video. Hope this helps!

If you're considering a range from entry-level to more advanced, I'd recommend looking at the Sony A7 series. I've seen the A7 III go for a really good price on Adorama with a bundle that included extra batteries, a bag, and a memory card. It's a fantastic deal considering the A7 III is a full-frame camera that's well-regarded for its performance in various types of photography.

Check out Adorama and also Sony's official refurbished store; sometimes they have like-new cameras with a decent discount and a warranty.

A great tool that I've used to track camera prices is CamelCamelCamel, which monitors Amazon price histories. You can set up alerts to notify you when a camera like the Sony A7R IV drops to a desired price range. This method requires some patience but can lead to snagging a fantastic deal at just the right time.

Good luck with your search! I hope you find a great deal on a Sony camera that suits your needs.

For those who don't mind buying used, check out sites like KEH and MPB. They have a good selection of pre-owned Sony cameras with a warranty. I found a like-new Sony A7R III for a great price there.

I recently came across some excellent deals on Sony cameras that might interest you. For an entry-level option, the Sony Alpha a6000 is a fantastic choice, currently priced at a competitive rate here. If you’re looking for something a bit more advanced, the Sony Alpha a6400 offers great features for its price here. For those interested in top-notch video quality, the Sony ZV-1 is specifically designed for vlogging and is available at a discount here. These deals are definitely worth checking out for anyone in the market for a new Sony camera!
