I recommend Angelbird's CFexpress Type A cards for Sony mirrorless cameras. They offer high capacities, impressive sustained write speeds, and are VPG certified, ensuring compatibility with Sony's recording features.

@Reply #9 - good point! It really is a minefield when you are first looking at these. I spent ages comparing prices before settling on a slightly different brand than the ones mentioned above. I have been using the ProGrade Digital CFexpress Type A Iridium 480GB for a while now and I am very satisfied. It has been rock solid for my daily shooting and was significantly more cost-effective than some of the more premium options. Two quick tips for anyone still deciding:

  • Always verify the VPG-200 or VPG-400 certification if you plan on shooting high-bitrate video. It is more important for stability than the peak burst speed numbers printed on the box.
  • Use a dedicated reader for transfers. The ProGrade Digital USB 3.2 Gen 2 Dual-Slot Card Reader works well and saves a lot of time compared to plugging the camera in directly. Honestly no complaints so far, it just works like it should.
