I recently purchased a Sony FX3 camera for shooting video and I'm looking to pair it with a high-quality gimbal for stable footage. The FX3 is fairly compact at 1.1 lbs (500g) so I'm hoping to find a lightweight gimbal that balances well with it.
Since DJI RS 4 and RS 4 Pro have been released, now the best choice are RS4 and RS4 Pro. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?Ntt=dji+rs+4&BI=8941&KBID=10361&SID=12345&DFF=d50
@6777777 As a former Ronin S user, I can confidently say that upgrading to the RS4 was one of the best decisions I've made. The difference in performance is nothing short of remarkable. The RS4 operates with a level of smoothness and fluidity that the Ronin S simply can't match. Additionally, the reduced weight of the RS4 makes it far more comfortable to carry around for extended periods. I've genuinely fallen in love with this gimbal, and I no longer dread the thought of bringing it with me on shoots. The RS4 is a true game-changer.
Analyzing the torque specs and motor efficiency for the Sony FX3 reveals two fantastic options that often get overlooked! Both of these provide incredible stability and specialized features.
stumbled upon this discussion and ngl, ive been pretty bummed out by the current gimbal landscape lately. i actually went down a rabbit hole trying to build a custom diy counterweight setup for my fx3 because i had issues with almost every electronic stabilizer i tried. honestly, most of them felt way more clunky than advertised and the motor noise was a total nightmare when i was trying to grab clean audio. it was super disappointing to spend that much and still feel like i was fighting the gear. a couple things i gotta ask though before you pull the trigger:
DJI is gonna be the best build quality for your money. And also ZHIYUN gimbals are another good choices.
Bought a used DJI RS 3 Pro for my FX3, works well and really love it.
DJI RS 4 Mini is coming.
