Best versatile zoom lens for filming with the Sony FX3?

Ive been shooting on the FX3 for about a year now mostly using primes like the 35mm and 85mm G Master glass which looks amazing but honestly im getting tired of swapping lenses every five minutes during run and gun shoots. I just landed a gig filming a mini-doc for a local chef in Chicago and I am gonna be in a super cramped kitchen with basically zero time to swap gear without getting grease on the sensor or just missing the action entirely.

Ive been looking at the 24-70 GM II but its pricey and i heard the focus breathing can be a bit much though maybe the FX3 internal compensation fixes that? Or maybe the 24-105 f4 for the extra reach but i worry about the f4 being way too slow in the dim back-of-house lighting. I have about $2300 to spend and I need to pull the trigger by next week before we start production. Is there something better than the standard Sony glass like that Tamron 35-150? That range sounds perfect but its a total brick and I am worried about how it balances on a gimbal if i have to switch over to the RS3 mid-day.

Anyone here use a one lens to rule them all setup on the FX3 that actually holds up for professional delivery? I really need the AF to be rock solid because I am solo op on this one and cant afford to hunt for focus...

You should probably avoid f4 in kitchens. I used Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 DG DN Art for a cookline shoot; it's cheaper, weighs 835g, and the AF tracking is flawless.

Ive been very satisfied with the Sony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II for professional delivery. The FX3 breathing compensation feature works perfectly with it, resolving your primary concern. At 695g, its significantly lighter than the Tamron, making it ideal for the DJI RS 3. The autofocus is basically the most reliable in its class. TL;DR: Sony GM II. Best weight and native feature support.
