I finally saved up for a Sony FX3 for my big Japan trip next month and I am so pumped to start filming! Problem is I have no clue what lens to get for those epic wide shots of the city. I am totally new to this so all the aperture and focal length talk just confuses me. I have about 1000 bucks left to spend.
Sorry if this is a total newbie question but I just dont want to buy the wrong thing...
> Honestly, you should just get the Sony FE 20mm f1.8 G! I agree with the 20mm, but honestly, it's not as good as expected when you're stuck in cramped city streets and need more width. Since youre new, the Tamron 17-28mm f2.8 Di III RXD is way more versatile for a trip. Unfortunately, the build quality isnt as nice as Sony glass, but the f2.8 helps at night and the autofocus is snappy enough for most things.
Honestly, you should just get the Sony FE 20mm f1.8 G! It is technically amazing with dual XD linear motors for flawless autofocus. That f1.8 aperture is fantastic for those night shots in Tokyo, and it is super compact at only 373 grams. It hits the sweet spot for your 1000 dollar budget while delivering incredible G-series optics. You are gonna love it!
