Hello fellow photographers!
I'm in the market for a high-quality wide-angle lens for my Sony mirrorless camera. I primarily shoot landscapes and architecture, so I'm looking for a lens that delivers sharp images with minimal distortion. Any good suggestions ?
I've been using the Sony FE 16-35mm f/2.8 GM II for about one year now and it's absolutely stellar. Tack sharp even at the corners, beautiful rendering, and built like a tank. Yes, it's expensive, but if you're earning money with your photography, it's absolutely worth the investment. For landscape and architecture work, it's my go-to lens.
Sony FE 16-35mm f/2.8 GM II is the best choice.
@89004 Yes, this is definitely a good wide-angle lens, but it is also a bit expensive for me. I'd love the new released FE 16-25mm f/2.8 G lens: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?Ntt=Sony+FE+16+25mm+F2+8+G&BI=8941&KBID=10361&SID=12345&DFF=d50
Can confirm
For pure image quality per dollar, the Sony FE 20mm f/1.8 G is hard to beat. Super sharp across the frame, minimal distortion, and that f/1.8 aperture is fantastic for astrophotography. It's become my go-to lens for Milky Way shots. The only downside is no zoom flexibility, but the IQ more than makes up for it.
Stumbled on this today and gotta agree with the 20mm prime suggestion. Its such a reliable, safe choice for outdoor work. I've always found the weather sealing gives some peace of mind when you're out in the field and things get a bit dusty. Its a decent, predictable option that just works every time. Let me know if you have any other questions about it!
