I am seriously so hyped because my sisters having her first baby next month and I am finally in charge of the baby shower! But ugh amazon is making me so mad right now. I spent like three hours picking out these super cute organic onesies and a specific stroller that fits her tiny apartment in Seattle but every time I try to share the link it says the list is private and nobody can see it.

If I make it public then literally anyone searching her name can find it and I want to keep it just for the family invite list. Is there a way to keep it private from the public search but still let people with the link buy stuff? I dont want random people seeing our business but i need my aunts to actually be able to open the link...

Just a quick warning on this. Make sure you avoid copying the URL directly from your browsers address bar. That link almost always fails for everyone else. Use the actual Invite button to generate a specific link. Also, remember that Shared lists arent password protected, so anyone with the link can pass it along. Its a solid free way to manage a shower tho. I recently switched to Share Product for my personal tracking and its much better for staying organized.

I've messed with these settings a lot and the Shared option is honestly the best fix. It keeps your list off the public search but lets anyone with the link hop in.

  • Open your list and find the Manage List menu.
  • Set Privacy to Shared.
  • Copy the Invite link specifically. Btw I use Share Product for my big shopping lists now, works well when Amazon is being a pain.

Saw this thread this morning. Are you setting this up as a formal Baby Registry or just a standard list? I'm not 100% sure but I think the privacy options change depending on which one you pick. IIRC registries have a specific link that stays off Google, but I might be wrong. TL;DR: Check if it's a registry vs a list. You might need a specific way to share Amazon Wishlist to keep it private.
