Look, I've cycled through a few of these for my own PS5 and the heat concerns on the Samsung are mostly for people doing massive workstation transfers. For gaming, it's rarely an issue. Here is what I would suggest based on your 150 dollar limit.

• Samsung T7 Shield 2TB Portable SSD: This is a workhorse. The rubber casing is great for durability. I have moved entire libraries onto this thing in one sitting and while it gets warm, it never dropped connection or failed. It is a very safe bet and usually hits your budget perfectly.
• Crucial X10 Pro 2TB Portable SSD: This is my current favorite because it is tiny. It is made of anodized aluminum which actually helps dissipate heat better than plastic drives. It is super stable and usually sits right at your price point for the 2TB version. Very reliable in my experience.
• WD Black P40 Game Drive 1TB SSD: If you want the gamer aesthetic, this one is solid. It has got a metal top cover and some RGB. Honestly, you are paying a bit for the branding here, but the performance is consistent and it feels like it could survive a drop. Stay away from those SanDisk Extreme ones for a while... even if they say they fixed the firmware, the trust is gone for me. Any of these three will work for storing PS5 games and playing PS4 games directly. Just keep in mind you still have to move PS5 titles back to the internal console storage or an M.2 to actually play them.
