What's the best external flash for the Sony ZV-1 II that won't make the whole thing tip over? I'm so frustrated with the low light performance on this thing for my indoor lifestyle blog. I'm torn between the Godox V350S and the Sony HVL-F20M. The Sony one is tiny but people say the recycle time is trash, whereas the Godox seems solid but maybe too bulky for such a small body? I have a £150 budget and a shoot coming up next Thursday here in London. Is the Godox gonna look ridiculous or should I stick with the Sony brand even if it's slower? Or is there a third option I'm totally missing...

In my experience, you should grab the Godox V350S TTL Li-ion Camera Flash for Sony. I have tried many compact setups over the years and the Sony recycle times are honestly painful.

  • Lithium battery saves money over time
  • Full bounce and swivel control
  • Much faster recycle speeds It looks a bit top-heavy, but performance is night and day compared to the Sony HVL-F20M External Flash. Its easily the best budget move.

In my experience, you want something that keeps the setup balanced. Trying different rigs over the years taught me that size matters for these tiny Sony bodies. Take a look at the LightPix Labs FlashQ X20 for Sony GN20 Wireless.

  • Its super small and wont tip the camera.
  • The flash head detaches for off-camera use.
  • It fits your budget easily. Honestly, I used one for a lifestyle shoot recently and it was a total lifesaver.
