Are there any recommended leather cases for Sony RX100 cameras?

Does anyone have a solid recommendation for a real leather case for the Sony RX100 because I am honestly getting so confused with all the different versions and what actually fits the VII. I just picked up the Mark VII for a trip I'm taking to Italy next month and I really want it to look a bit more classic and less like a piece of high-tech gear while I'm out and about in Rome. Plus I'm kind of a klutz so I really need that extra grip for when I'm one-handing shots near the fountains and stuff.

I spent way too many hours last night looking at those Gariz half cases and they look beautiful but they are over a hundred bucks which feels like a lot for half a case right? I read that they have a solid metal base which is cool but then I saw some forum posts saying you still have to take the whole thing off just to get to the SD card which is a total nightmare when you're traveling. I also looked at the MegaGear ones on Amazon because the price is way better but the reviews are just so inconsistent. Some people swear by them and others say the leather feels like cardboard or that it doesnt actually fit the VII lens ring because it's slightly thicker than the earlier models.

I'm based in the US and trying to stay under $70 if I can because I already spent way too much on the camera itself and some extra batteries. I really want something that:

  • has a tripod mount built into the screw
  • allows the flip screen to move freely
  • is actually genuine leather and not that 'vegan' plastic stuff
  • lets me swap the battery without a screwdriver

I'm just worried about buying something that says it fits 'all RX100 models' because the VII has that slightly different lens housing and I don't want to deal with returns while I'm trying to pack. Has anyone actually used one of these on the newer models or should I just give up on the leather look and get a rubber grip? It just feels wrong to put a cheap rubber sticker on such a nice camera...

The TP Original Leather Half Case Sony RX100 VII is reliable.

Regarding what #1 said about "The TP Original Leather Half Case Sony RX100..." - be careful with universal fit claims. The VII lens housing is deeper and many cases block the mic jack. Look at Bolisi Genuine Leather Half Case Sony RX100 VII. It stays around $60 and includes the bottom flap for battery access. Just verify the seller specs for bottom opening specifically. Check DPReview compatibility threads so you dont buy the wrong one.
