What is the best external microphone to get for the new Sony ZV-E10 II if I want to start vlogging?
Sorry if this is a super basic question but I just bought this camera yesterday and it is my first real camera ever, so I have absolutely no idea what I am doing. Everyone online keeps saying the built-in mic is not good enough and that I need an external one for decent sound quality.
I am going on a trip to Japan next month and plan to do a lot of outdoor travel vlogging there. I really need something lightweight that can handle wind noise well because I will be walking around a lot. My budget is pretty tight, maybe 150 dollars at the absolute most since the camera took most of my savings.
I keep seeing terms like shotgun mics and wireless lavaliers and honestly I am so confused. Do I need a mic that sits on top of the camera, or one of those clip-on things? I just want something simple that I can plug in and it just works without me having to mess with settings.
Unfortunately, internal audio is trash. I've had issues with wind on cheap setups, so just get the Rode VideoMic GO II Lightweight Directional Microphone. It's the best budget option for Japan.
I'd grab the Sony ECM-G1 Ultracompact Shotgun Microphone. It uses the digital shoe, so you dont need cables or extra batteries. Its easily the most seamless setup for travel vlogging.
