Hey everyone, I recently got the Sony a6700 mirrorless camera and am looking for a good tripod to pair with it for landscape photography. Any recommendations on the best tripods that are sturdy but still fairly lightweight for hiking? Trying to keep the budget under $200 if possible. Thanks!

I'm a big fan of the Peak Design Travel Tripod. Yes, it's pricey, but the quality and features are incredible. It packs down to a very compact size, yet provides a tall maximum height. The ball head is one of the best I've used - smooth, sturdy, and easily adjustable. The carbon fiber version saves even more weight. It's a premium tripod, but worth the investment in my opinion, especially paired with a great camera like the a6700.

I was so nervous about my gear falling over when I first started, ngl. The thought of my a6700 hitting the dirt was terrifying! After a ton of research, I picked up the Vanguard VEO 3GO 235AB Aluminum Travel Tripod and it has been absolutely amazing for my hikes. Last weekend I took it out to this super windy ridge and was so scared it might tip, but it stayed totally solid. There is a little hook on the center column where I hang my bag for extra stability which makes me feel way safer. Its super lightweight to carry but feels really tough. Plus it fits right into the side pocket of my backpack! If youre looking for something reliable that wont blow your budget, this one is fantastic.

For a more budget-friendly option, I highly recommend the Manfrotto Befree Advanced. It's sturdy enough for the a6700, even with larger lenses, and offers a great balance between price and performance. The twist-lock legs are quick to set up, and it folds down small enough to fit in most camera bags.

For your Sony a6700, consider the Manfrotto Befree Advanced Tripod. It's lightweight, sturdy, and ideal for hiking. Alternatively, the K&F Concept X-Series offers a carbon fiber build with a 16kg weight limit, suitable for landscape photography.
