I just got my hands on the new Sony FX30 cinema camera and I'm looking for the best cage to protect it and add some accessory mounting options. I'd love to hear your recommendations on what cages work well with this camera. Ideally, I want something sturdy but not too bulky. Let me know what you think!
Wow ok that changes things. Gonna have to rethink my approach now.
Most FX30 shooter uses SmallRig cage.
Has anyone use 8Sinn Cage for FX30 ? Worth it ?
For the Sony FX30, a recommended cage would be one that provides robust protection while offering versatility for mounting accessories. Look for cages specifically designed for the FX30 that offer secure attachment points, good heat dissipation, and easy access to camera controls. Brands like SmallRig and Tilta often offer well-reviewed options that cater to professional videographers' needs. Always ensure the cage fits snugly and integrates well with your workflow and shooting style.
The SmallRig Camera Cage for Sony FX30 and FX3 is a lightweight, formfitting option that offers multiple mounting points, including 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threads, ARRI-style mounts, and a cold shoe. It also features an HDMI cable clamp and an Arca-Swiss quick release plate for easy tripod transitions. Alternatively, the SHAPE Camera Cage for Sony FX3/FX30 provides a one-sided design with multiple mount points, an ARRI rosette on the left side, and an adjustable wooden handle. It includes a removable HDMI protector and maintains full access to the camera's controls and compartments. Both cages are sturdy yet not overly bulky, making them suitable choices for protecting your FX30 while adding accessory mounting options.
