I recently purchased the Sony ZV-E10 and I'm looking to explore macro photography. I want to invest in a dedicated macro lens that will help me capture stunning close-up shots of small subjects like insects, flowers, and intricate details. Any good suggestions ?

If you're just starting with macro photography, you might want to consider the Sony E 30mm f/3.5 Macro. It's an affordable APS-C lens that's perfect for the ZV-E10. While it doesn't offer 1:1 magnification (it goes up to 1:1.67), it's a great introduction to macro photography and doubles as a nice general-purpose prime lens.

Agreeing with Joy on the TTArtisan, manual lenses are actually kinda better for macro since autofocus usually struggles when youre that close anyway. If youre feeling a bit DIY and want to save money, check out the Viltrox DG-NEX Auto Focus Extension Tube set. It lets you use the lenses you already have for macro by shortening the minimum focus distance. Its a cheap way to see if you actually enjoy the workflow before dropping hundreds on glass. That said, if you want the absolute best image quality for that ZV-E10, the Venus Optics Laowa 65mm f/2.8 2x Ultra Macro APO is incredible. It gives you 2x magnification which is double what most macro lenses offer. Basically, it lets you see details the human eye misses entirely. Just keep in mind it has no electronics, so youll be setting everything yourself, but its a great way to learn the craft properly. The extra working distance you get with a 65mm focal length is a lifesaver for shooting insects too since you dont have to be right on top of them.

For your Sony ZV-E10, the Sigma 70mm f/2.8 DG Macro Art lens is an excellent choice for macro photography. It's known for its sharpness and ability to capture intricate details with ease. Another great option is the Sony E 30mm f/3.5 Macro lens, which is compact and lightweight, making it perfect for on-the-go shooting. Both lenses will allow you to get up close and personal with subjects like insects and flowers, capturing their beauty in stunning detail. You can find the Sigma 70mm f/2.8 DG Macro Art lens here and the Sony E 30mm f/3.5 Macro lens here.
