Along with ZV-E10 II, Sony will also announce a new kit lens: E 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS II.
tbh i would suggest being pretty careful before rushing to sell the old gear just yet. i spent years with my original Sony E 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS and learned the hard way that these kit updates sometimes just swap the housing and the motors without actually fixing the glass. make sure to wait for the actual side-by-side technical tests... i have been burned before by version 2 lenses that had the same soft edges as the original. quick tip for you: check the mtf charts specifically at the 16mm end once they drop. if the lines look the same as the old one, you are basically just paying for better autofocus tracking and a lighter shell. just something to consider before you lose money on a trade-in.
Robert is spot on with that warning. I learned this lesson years ago with a mark II update where I rushed out to sell my old kit glass. I honestly thought new version meant better glass but I ended up paying a huge premium for a lens that had the exact same internal optics and just a slightly faster focus motor. It was a total letdown and a waste of money because the image quality didnt budge at all. I would suggest being very careful with this Sony E 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS II announcement. Usually when Sony keeps the same aperture and focal range on these budget kit lenses, they are just updating the AF motors and the physical shell.
🙌
Time to sell old 16-50mm lens.
