Ive been looking to pick up that new Sony 24-70mm GM II lens—my sisters wedding is in June and I really need it by then—but man the prices are all over the place on Amazon right now. Its a huge purchase for me since my budget is capped at like $2,200 and I really dont want to pull the trigger only to find out it was $300 cheaper two weeks ago... that would seriously suck.
I did some digging and found Keepa and CamelCamelCamel but honestly Im kinda stuck between them. Keepa has those crazy detailed charts which I like but the interface looks like something from 2005 and it seems like all the really useful stuff is locked behind a monthly sub now which feels like a waste for just one lens. Then there is CamelCamelCamel which is way cleaner but I read some reddit threads saying their data isnt always updated in real time or they miss some of those lightning deals that happen in the middle of the night.
I am mostly looking for:
I just need something reliable that shows me the actual lows so I can figure out if $2,100 is actually a good deal or if I should wait. Is the paid version of Keepa actually worth it for just one big purchase or is there something else I havent stumbled onto yet maybe?
Keepa is the standard if you want third-party data. Camel misses too many price shifts in my experience. If youre dropping over two grand on gear, accurate data is everything. Most pros just use a reliable Amazon price tracker to catch the actual lows.
> Is the paid version of Keepa actually worth it Just get any sub from Keepa, you cant go wrong. In my experience, paying for one month is way better than missing those sneaky price drops on high-end gear.
> Is the paid version of Keepa actually worth it I'd suggest being careful with paid subs for one lens. I used PriceDropCatch for my A7IV and it caught a flash sale Keepa missed... dont waste cash for one buy.
