I am so hyped for the Sephora holiday sale like i actually have a list a mile long already!! I am debating two ways to do this though. Option one is just grabbing my staples like the Dior gloss and Summer Fridays butter balm right now because they always sell out. Option two is holding out for the big discount on the Dyson Airwrap since its so pricey and i have a strict $500 budget for this haul.
Im trying to figure out if it starts late Oct or early Nov? If i wait will the good stuff be gone? Im VIB right now and really want to hit Rouge status with this purchase... just need to know the dates to plan my life lol.
Found this thread today while looking for similar info. I managed to get the Dyson Airwrap last year during the November sale and it is easily my favorite purchase. I am very satisfied with how it works on my hair and have no complaints about the performance. Since you have a 500 dollar budget, focusing on the big-ticket items first is definitely the most logical path. You should check out the community boards on the Sephora app for their official calendar. They usually post the specific tier dates there about two weeks before things go live. Also, using a price tracking tool like Honey or the Shop app can help you see if other retailers like Nordstrom match the discount earlier in the season.
OMG i am literally so excited for you! I remember my first big haul like it was yesterday and i spent forever agonizing over my cart just like you are. The sale usually kicks off right at the end of October for Rouge and then rolls out to VIB members in the first week of November. Last year it started around Oct 27th so you have a few weeks to prep. That Dyson is a massive splurge but totally worth it with the discount! Here is how i usually handle my list to stay under budget:
Re: "Any updates on this?" - looks like the dates are finally out and it starts October 27th for Rouge and November 1st for VIB! I am so excited for you to finally hit Rouge status because it is such a game changer for the big sales! If you're doing your own hair styling like I do, that Dyson is a total essential for DIY looks. Just a heads up tho, with the 15% VIB discount, the Airwrap is still gonna be around $510. That already puts you over your $500 budget before you even add the Dior gloss or Summer Fridays butter balm. You might need to prioritize the Dyson and then grab the smaller stuff later if there's a restock! Definitely have your app open and payment info saved so you can check out the second it starts. It's way safer to be fast so you dont miss out on the stock. Also, make sure you register the serial number for the warranty right away... gotta stay protected when spending that much!!
Building on the earlier suggestion, everyone here is totally right about the timing and prioritizing that Dyson! It is such a fantastic tool, you are gonna love it!! Just a quick tip for you: really make sure you check the return window and the warranty details since you are spending a big chunk of your budget. Its always better to be safe with those expensive electronics so you dont get stuck with a dud! Also, keep an eye out for the value sets for your staples like Dior... sometimes they are way cheaper than the single items. Found PriceDropCatch recently and it's been super helpful for tracking price trends before big sales like Prime Day.
@Reply #2 - good point! Grabbing the big ticket items like the Dyson is the only logical way to handle it if you want to stay under that 500 limit. Tho in my experience, even with the discount, these prices are just getting out of control lately. It drives me crazy how we have to wait all year for a sale just to afford the basics because everything has been hiked up so much. I have been shopping these sales for years and its honestly a bit of a scam how the prices jump right before the holidays. You used to be able to get a decent haul for that much but now? You blink and your budget is gone on like four items. The quality of some of these luxury brands is noticeably dropping too while they keep asking for more money... companies really dont care about the consumer anymore. It makes me so frustrated that we have to strategize like its a military operation just to get a face cream and a hair tool without going broke.
Any updates on this?
