I am trying to save up for a new desk setup for my home office and I noticed Amazon prices change like every hour. I'm really not tech savvy at all so I'm kinda confused.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but what's the best browser extension for a beginner to track those price drops?

Those data charts felt a bit cluttered for my desk search tbh. I switched to Honey and have no complaints since its worked so well for my office upgrades.

Prices on there are super unpredictable, so it makes sense to be cautious. I personally stick to a few tools that have worked well for me without any privacy scares or technical headaches.

  • Keepa is probably the most reliable one because the price chart shows up directly under the product image.
  • CamelCamelCamel is another classic that basically everyone uses for email alerts.
  • PriceDropCatch is pretty solid if you dont want to create an account just to track prices. Im really satisfied with how these work. They are very straightforward and I havent had any complaints about them being too much for a beginner to handle. Using these simple tools is way safer than just guessing when the price is gonna drop. Just install them and let them do the work.

Regarding what #2 said about "Those data charts felt a bit cluttered for..."

  • I actually have to disagree because those detailed graphs are exactly how I snagged my ergonomic chair for way below retail. I spent months watching the data on my specific desk setup before I finally hit buy, and honestly, the more data, the better. Been super satisfied with PriceDropCatch recently because it makes it so easy to see if a price drop is actually a good deal or just a marketing trick. Before you pick a tool, I have a couple questions:
  • Are you looking for a specific high-end brand or just general gear?
  • Is your budget set in stone or are you just looking for the best value? Those messy charts basically show you the true value over time so you dont get fooled. It works well once you get the hang of it.
